BRICKLAYING

4 DAY COURSE MON-THURS or 2 WEEKENDS

This course has been developed to cater for both men and women with little or no experience and is ideal for people working in the construction sector who wish to broaden their skills or for anyone wishing to tackle their own home improvements or even a change in career. The course is delivered in a practical way covering all aspects of basic bricklaying with one to one support as required. Tailored to suit the individual, from building a garden wall to an extension or garage.

  • Gauge, level, plumb technique
  • Using English, Flemish and Stretcher bonds
  • Pointing for face work
  • Cavity walls and damp proofing
  • Working to current building regulation

  • Courses run from 9:30 to 4:30 each day

  1. Decorative garden wall
  2. Conservatory base
  3. Porch
  4. Retaining wall
  5. Cavity wall with corners and window/door opening to current building regulations

Tea/coffee provided
Tools and equipment will be fully supplied, explained and demonstrated.
You will be involved at every stage and will be participating through out the course.
It is therefore essential for you to bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is recommended.

We also tailor make courses for the construction sector companies wishing to teach their staff different trade techniques, these can be ½ day to 5 day in most subjects.
